The National Aquarium in Baltimore will be honoring the planet in a big way this Earth Day. Special events begin April 19 featuring celebrity guest Tyrone, star of Nickelodeon’s hit TV show “The Backyardigans.” Guests will explore ways to save the planet starting with small changes in their own backyards and special frog events continuing with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) year long celebration of the frog.
The National Aquarium in Baltimore is pleased to announce its first-ever Green Gala – an evening of food, entertainment and fun that highlights the elegance, sophistication and rewards of sustainable living. Taking place on Saturday, April 5, the event will feature examples of creative, interesting and effective ways to embrace a greener lifestyle. From a special menu highlighting thoughtful choices to an enviro-friendly auction and eco-tours of great ideas and green practices, the evening will celebrate both the easy and the unusual for an environmentally friendly lifestyle.

2008 is the Year of the Frog! Starting February 29th – Leap Day – the National Aquarium in Baltimore and more than 70 members of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) around the country will hold fun, family-friendly events and programs to educate people about amphibian conservation.

The National Aquarium in Baltimore invites visitors to celebrate Black History Month during the month of February with a trip to our weird underwater world! Two very special “Fridays after Five” promotions are planned on February 1 and 15. Guests arriving after 5 p.m. will be admitted at a special admission price of $8 and enjoy programming featuring music, dance, guest speakers and much more!
