Are reptiles slimy? Are all reptiles scaly? Are reptiles dangerous? The National Aquarium staff answered these and many other questions as we highlighted our reptile collection with Reptile Day, held on Saturday, November 1 from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Story time, crafts, and a special display of reptiles were all part of this slithery annual event held to help visitors learn about reptiles and their important role in their ecosystem.

The National Aquarium in Baltimore’s community discount program, Fridays After Five, begins September 5. Every Friday evening through March, guests entering the Aquarium between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. (exploring until 10 p.m.) will enjoy a low admission price of $8.
The National Aquarium in Baltimore will celebrate Beyond the Boardwalk, a series of events celebrating ocean life, and sharing ways to protect and restore our local waterways for thousands of animals that call them home. Annually taking place in June, Beyond the Boardwalk features a variety of exciting and interactive programs, games and stories on ways adults and children can be responsible and get involved.

Baltimore has officially gone to the birds. The National Aquarium in Baltimore will celebrate International Migratory Bird Day with special events including appearances by mascot Puffin and the Bird, mascot of the Baltimore Orioles. Guests will learn about the life of migratory birds as they journey between their summer and winter homes through activities included with Aquarium admission.
The National Aquarium in Baltimore will be honoring the planet in a big way this Earth Day. Special events begin April 19 featuring celebrity guest Tyrone, star of Nickelodeon’s hit TV show “The Backyardigans.” Guests will explore ways to save the planet starting with small changes in their own backyards and special frog events continuing with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums’ (AZA) year long celebration of the frog.
