National Aquarium, Washington Promotes Autism Awareness

The National Aquarium and the DC Autism Parents (DCAP) go for a whirlwind adventure under the sea on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the National Aquarium in Washington, DC. Located just one block from the Washington Monument in the Commerce Building, the nation’s oldest aquarium is a must-see attraction that offers a nice relaxing, family friendly experience.

Students step up studies in preparation for grade “A” night!

The National Aquarium is encouraging students throughout the area to keep up their studies during the last six weeks of the school year as the organization announced Thursday, June 25, 2009 as the date of their annual Grade A Student Night. The event celebrates students who have achieved three or more grades equal to or above 90% in any one marking period and are enrolled in K-12 in Baltimore City or County and offers those students free admission from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Aquarium recognizes National Military Appreciation Month

The National Aquarium in Baltimore and the National Aquarium in Washington, DC, are saluting the military by offering free admission to any active duty or active reserve military service member on March 7 and 8, 2009.

National Aquarium in Washington Promotes Reef Conservation

The National Aquarium in Washington celebrated the success of the International Year of the Reef campaign by co-hosting a special reception with partners including the Coral Reef Alliance, Conservation International, The Nature Conservancy, Project Aware, Shark Trust Wines and the World Wildlife Fund.

The National Aquarium invites the community to have more fun this holiday season by indulging in Baltimore’s underwater world during Dollar Day Weekend, Saturday, December 6 and Sunday, December 7. A tradition since the Aquarium opened in 1981, on Dollar Days admission is only $1.00 per person, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
