The votes are in, and the National Aquarium’s newest dolphin has a name! Members of the public cast more than 22,400 votes via text message and at www.wbaltv.com, and Bayley was the clear favorite with 31% of the votes. With the help of the Aquarium’s dolphins, Baltimore City Mayor Sheila Dixon announced the winning name during a live broadcast from the shallow end of the dolphin pool.

The presidential election has come and gone, but the National Aquarium still needs your vote! The newest addition to the dolphin colony is now 3 months old and the Aquarium is calling on the public to choose her name. From November 11 – 20 people are invited to vote for their favorite of five names by text messaging or visiting WBALTV.com.

Beginning November 15, 2008 visitors are invited to embark on a cold winter’s journey that’s sure to warm your heart, and to make you believe. The Polar Express™ 4-D Experience transforms the holiday movie into a 20-minute, action-packed movie experience that will keep young viewers on their edge of their seats through special effects that are exclusive to the 4-D theater experience!

The National Aquarium invites the community to have more fun this holiday season by indulging in Baltimore’s underwater world during Dollar Day Weekend, Saturday, December 6 and Sunday, December 7. A tradition since the Aquarium opened in 1981, on Dollar Days admission is only $1.00 per person, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
