The Marine Animal Rescue Program team has been very active with sea turtle rescues this year, and their work is not finished just yet. In late October a new green sea turtle patient was submitted to the MARP hospital. The turtle was found cold stunned in New Jersey and transported to the National Aquarium for rehabilitation.

From the swamps of Louisiana to our nation’s capital, four new American alligators have joined over 250 other species on display at the National Aquarium, Washington DC. The lively baby reptiles will remain at the Aquarium in its Everglades National Park exhibit where they will be fed and cared for until they grow to a fuller adolescent size.

Winter is quickly approaching and so is the return of a holiday classic to the National Aquarium, Baltimore! Beginning November 14, visitors are invited to embark on a cold winter’s journey that’s sure to warm your heart, and make you believe. The Polar Express™ 4-D Experience transforms the holiday movie into a 20-minute, action-packed movie experience that will keep young viewers on their edge of their seats through special effects that are exclusive to the 4-D theater experience!

On November 3rd, the National Aquarium, Baltimore will welcome nationally acclaimed American coastal cuisine chef, John Shields, to headline Fresh Thoughts: A Sustainable Seafood Dining Series that celebrates sustainable and scrumptious seafood choices. The evening’s menu will feature a variety of farmed trout recipes created by John Shields especially for this event.

The National Aquarium has received a $480,000 grant supporting its participation in a national coalition of Aquariums educating about climate change.
