National Aquarium, Washington Promotes Autism Awareness
Washington, DC (April 17, 2009) – The National Aquarium and the DC Autism Parents (DCAP) go for a whirlwind adventure under the sea on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at the National Aquarium in Washington, DC. Located just one block from the Washington Monument in the Commerce Building, the nation’s oldest aquarium is a must-see attraction that offers a nice relaxing, family friendly experience.
The newly renovated aquarium presents a 45-minute showcase of unique and engaging animals, including over 250 species of freshwater and marine animals, amphibians and reptiles. There will be arts and crafts, a quiet room, and more.
We are delighted to host this event that helps bring awareness to autism, a complex developmental disability that affects more than 1.5 million Americans, and furthers our mission to inspire people to enjoy, respect, and protect the aquatic world,” said National Aquarium Executive Director Bob Ramin.
Tickets will be $2/per child and $3.50/per adult (this is a special event rate). The National Aquarium is located on 14th Street between Pennsylvania and Constitution Avenues, NW, Washington DC 20230. Space is limited, RSVP required to info@dcautismparents.org.
