One-third of all amphibians on the planet are threatened with extinction because of habitat  destruction, climate change and pollution. Most frogs live both in water and on land at  different stages of their lives, so they’re affected by problems in both types of habitats.  Therefore, Amphibians are very important to us because they are indicators of what’s going  on in the environment around us. Zoos and aquariums, with strong public support, will  play a major role in preventing the amphibian extinction crisis – one of the most sweeping  wildlife conservation challenges of our time. We CAN make a difference.
